Our Strategic Goals and Objectives

Engagement

CSCA works to increase the adoption of colloidal silica in concrete and construction applications.

Outcome

CSCA will increase the number of concrete job sites that use colloidal silica to increase the strength, durability and reduce the carbon footprint of concrete.

Objectives

  • Increase opportunities for colloidal silica enhanced concrete

  • Serve as a resource within the Concrete and Construction for all things Colloidal Silica for Concrete

  • Strengthen relationships between CSCA and its members

csca Founders

Dr. Jon Belkowitz - President

Dr. Jon Belkowitz is the Director of Research and Development at Intelligent Concrete, LLC specializing in Concrete Research, Development and Education with a focus on Nanotechnology. Before Intelligent Concrete, LLC, he served in the United States Air Force from 1996 to 2006 specializing in Civil Engineering.

His tour of duty introduced Dr. Belkowitz to a wide variety of concrete types and uses which were dependent upon the engineering practices of different host nation forces, developing nations, and disaster repair initiatives. Jon has worked in private testing laboratories on structural engineering proposals and materials development projects to include the application of nanotechnology in concrete.

Dr. Belkowitz has worked as a consultant on projects in the United States, India, Turkey, Africa, Italy, and Germany. Jon received his Masters of Material Science from University of Denver and his PhD in Mechanical Engineering with a specialty of Nanotechnology in Concrete at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey.

Whitney Belkowitz

Whitney began her concrete education in 2007 in the lab and continued in field applications assisting in the testing of fresh and hardened properties, durability and technical transfer. Her technical research interests include a wide variety of high profile concrete technologies.

Whitney’s research has been recognized and funded by the National Science foundation, Ready-Mixed Concrete Industry, and the US Army Corp of Engineering. Whitney has co-authored several concrete-related trade articles for among others, ACI, New Mexico Dept. of Transportation, and the National Ready-Mixed Concrete Association. Whitney currently lives in Elbert, Colorado with her husband and three children.
